New local advice on Welfare Benefits

04 February 2009

Every year millions of pounds of Welfare benefits go unclaimed and The Disability Resource Centre is keen to encourage people to claim the benefits they are entitled to.

For people over 60 yrs of age:

Our partnership with The Pension Service has been set up to provide free, independent and confidential benefit advice to older people throughout Bedfordshire and Luton.

Benefit checks can be undertaken for people who want to know which benefits they may be eligible for. Assistance can also be given with the completion of claim forms for disability benefits.

Both these services are available by appointment only and for those unable to visit our Centre in Dunstable a home visit can be arranged.

For people under 60yrs of age

Assistance can also be given with the completion of claim forms for disability benefits for younger people, unfortunately we are only able to offer this to clients who are able to come to Dunstable at the moment and currently cannot offer home visits (or benefit check, but we can give general advice regarding related benefits (eg: housing benefit/ council tax benefit / tax credits if middle or higher care is granted)

This service is also available by appointment only; please contact the Information Manager as above.

How to make an appointment

Both services are always over subscribed so please don't leave it too late before making an appointment especially if you have a pre-dated form that has to be returned in a short space of time.

Please contact our Information Manager on 01582 470900 or by clicking here for further information or availability of appointments.
