The Milton Keynes Direct Payments Support Service

The Disability Resource Centre provides an independent service through the Direct Payments Support Scheme, which operates throughout Milton Keynes. We can provide you with a range of support services. These include :

Help to plan how you will manage the direct payment
Information on implications of being an employer - this covers all aspects of becoming an employer
Help to draw up job descriptions
Support to interview prospective employees
Provide supprt with paperwork - financial returns
Model Contracts of Employment - an employment contract has been drawn up by a solicitor and kept updated according to changes in legislation
Insurance
Help to identify personal assistant training needs. A comprehensive list of training providers if available for personal assistant training
Payroll service - payroll will ensure that the correct tax and national insurance is deducted
Access to an independent advocate if required - an idependent advocate for adults with disabilities is available at the Disability Resource Centre
Access to peer support group - an opportunity to talk with people who are managing their own care using a direct payment
